Welcome to Alaska Buoys (alaskabuoys.app, the "Site"), operated and owned by Four Media Group LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Not an Official Government Service

Alaska Buoys is an independent service operated by Four Media Group LLC. It is NOT an official service of NOAA, the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC), the National Weather Service (NWS), the U.S. Coast Guard, or any other government agency, and is not endorsed by or affiliated with any of them. All government data displayed is used for informational purposes only.

2. Data Sourcing & NDBC Compliance

Observational data (wind speed/direction, wave height/period, water/air temperature, barometric pressure) is sourced from public feeds provided by NOAA's National Data Buoy Center. We comply with NDBC data use and redistribution policies. We do not alter underlying observations; timestamps and freshness labels reflect our system's best assessment of when data was last received from the source, and carry no implication of NOAA endorsement.

3. Not for Primary Navigation or Safety Decisions

Content on this Site is for general planning and awareness only. It is NOT a substitute for official NOAA marine forecasts, official NWS warnings and advisories, VHF weather radio (Channel 16 and NOAA Weather Radio), current paper/electronic nautical charts, or your own independent professional judgment. Always verify conditions through official channels before making any decision affecting safety.

4. No Professional or Emergency Advisory Relationship

Nothing on this Site constitutes professional maritime advice, licensed captain's guidance, or emergency dispatch. Use of the Site does not create any advisory, monitoring, or emergency-response relationship between you and Four Media Group LLC.

5. Third-Party Links

This Site links to third-party services (e.g., NOAA NDBC, NOAA Tides & Currents, Windy.com, NWS Forecast). Four Media Group LLC does not control, vouch for, or accept responsibility for the content, accuracy, or availability of any third-party site.

THE SITE AND ALL DATA DISPLAYED ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, TIMELINESS, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Station data may be delayed, stale, incomplete, or entirely unavailable at any time due to causes outside our control.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FOUR MEDIA GROUP LLC, ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES — INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY LOSS — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR RELIANCE ON, THIS SITE OR ANY DATA DISPLAYED ON IT.

8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Alaska, without regard to conflicts of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Application shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Anchorage, Alaska.
